La stella di Absolutely Famous June Whitfield è morta all’età di 93 anni. Secondo la BBC, l’agente dell’attrice avrebbe dichiarato che il decesso è avvenuto serenamente lo scorso venerdì sera. Cresciuta nel quartiere londinese di Streatham, i molti meriti cinematografici di June Whitfield includono la commedia del 1972 Carry on abroad e le sit-com britanniche di successo Terry & June e appunto Absolutely Famous. In quest’ultima, l’attrice ha interpretato la confusa madre della mostruosa pubblicitaria di Jennifer Saunders, Edina Monsoon, e la nonna della nipote Saffron, interpretata da Julia Sawalha. June Whitfield era stata nominata Dama nel 2017. A rendere omaggio all’attrice vi sono stati Sawalha, l’attrice di Midwife Miranda Hart e il regista di Baby Driver Edgar Wright.
