L’investigatrice del paranormale e scrittrice Lorraine Warren è deceduta all’età di 92 anni. Da diversi decenni, la donna si occupava di case stregate insieme a suo marito, Ed Warren. La coppia ha ispirato film come Amityville Horror ed il franchise di The Conjuring. Tony Spera, il genero dei Warren, e Chris McKinnell, il loro nipote, hanno postato su Facebook la notizia della morte di Lorraine nella sua casa in Connecticut. Altri messaggi sono stati postati dai restanti membri della famiglia.
Nel 1952, Ed e Lorraine Warren hanno fondato a Monroe la New England Society for Psychic Research. L’istituto è ancora attivo e opera nell’ambito delle investigazioni paranormali. Secondo il sito Web della società, Ed Warren, che è deceduto nel 2006, si definiva come un demonologo. Lorraine, invece, descriveva sè stessa come una trance medium.
Puntuali sono arrivati anche i ricordi di Vera Farmiga e Patrick Wilson. I due attori hanno interpretato la coppia nel franchise di The Conjuring.

L’evocazione – The Conjuring e The Conjuring – Il caso Enfield sono stati entrambi diretti da James Wan. Dello stesso universo narrativo fanno parte anche Annabelle, Annabelle 2: Creation, The Nun – La vocazione del male e La Llorona – Le lacrime del male. Un terzo film di The Conjuring è attualmente in pre-produzione e lo scorso mese è stato rilasciato il trailer ufficiale di Annabelle 3.
